Help keep a bed filled.

A stable address changes what's possible for someone. If you'd like to help make one available, here are the ways local people and businesses can pitch in.

Sponsor a placement

Community sponsored placements cover part or all of a resident's monthly rate when their own income falls short. Sponsor a month, a quarter, or an open-ended commitment.

In-kind giving

Furniture, linens, kitchen goods, hygiene supplies, and gift cards for groceries or fuel. Practical items that go straight into the home and get used.

Offer a service

Barbers, cooks, drivers, handymen, nurses, financial coaches — if you have a skill that makes a household run better, we'd like to hear from you.

Business partnership

Local employers who will interview our residents, landlords with future units, and suppliers willing to work at cost — all of it moves the needle.

Church & civic groups

Congregations and civic organizations that want to adopt the Cottage — meals on a rotation, holiday support, or a sponsored bed in your group's name.

Spread the word

Tell a case manager, a discharge planner, or a neighbor who needs somewhere to go. The cheapest way to help is to make sure the right person hears about us.

Before you give, know exactly what we are

TRS Residential is a privately held, for-profit company — not a nonprofit or a registered charity. Contributions to TRS Residential are not tax-deductible charitable donations, and we will never tell you otherwise. Community sponsorships and in-kind gifts go directly toward resident placements, furnishings, and household needs. If you would prefer to give through a tax-exempt organization, we are glad to point you to local nonprofits doing related work in Shreveport–Bossier City.

Where support goes

$700 sponsors one month of stability.

That's the income-based semi-private rate — room, furnishings, all utilities, Wi-Fi, and laundry included. For someone leaving a hospital, a shelter, or a couch, one sponsored month is often the gap between falling back and getting established.
