For residents & families

Finding the right home, without the runaround.

Whether you're looking for yourself or for someone you love, here's exactly what it costs, what's included, and how to apply — in plain language.

Who we serve

People navigating some of life's biggest transitions.

Our doors are open to the elderly, individuals with disabilities, reentry citizens, single adults and young families, veterans, and the workforce-affordable population — with the same respect for every person, regardless of the path that brought them here.

Placement is by application and qualification. That step isn't a hurdle — it's how we make sure the home is genuinely the right fit before anyone moves in, for the resident and for the roommates already living there.

Flexible payment options

We work with the income you actually have.

Most residents pay through a combination of sources. If you're not sure what you qualify for, call us — we'll help you work it out.

SSI / SSDI

Social Security disability and supplemental income accepted as a primary payment source.

Medicaid Housing Assistance

Accepted when approved, reviewed case by case. This covers housing only — we do not bill for care services.

VA Pension / VA Benefits

Veterans can apply pension and benefit income toward their monthly rate.

Private Pay

Paid directly by the resident or a family member, monthly.

Agency Pay

A placing agency or case management organization covers the rate on the resident's behalf.

Community Sponsored Placements

A church, business, or community sponsor underwrites a bed for a resident in need.

Good to know

A shared independent living home.

TRS Residential provides housing only. We do not provide medical care, personal care, or medication management — residents here live independently.

Residents live independently No medical or personal care provided No medication management Outside services are the resident’s choice

Residents who want outside services are free to arrange them with any provider they choose. If the person you're asking about needs hands-on daily care, tell us — we'll be honest about whether this is the right fit.

How to apply

Four steps, start to move-in.

No application fee. No obligation. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you honestly and point you toward someone who is.

1

Reach out

Call 318-200-0780 or send the inquiry form. Tell us who the placement is for and roughly when it's needed.

2

Talk it through

A short conversation about independence, daily routine, payment source, and whether shared living is a good fit.

3

Apply & qualify

We review the application against the home's capacity and the needs of current residents, then confirm the room type and rate.

4

Move in

Sign a flexible lease and arrive. The room is furnished and utilities are already on — bring your belongings and settle in.
